In a massive 264 page judgment, issued 15 months after a six week trial about the treatment in care of three intellectually disabled men, Justice Ellis concludes “I remain entirely unpersuaded that any one of the staff members who has cared for these three men over the years has ever been motivated by anything other than the men’s best interests.” Also known as X, Y and Z v Attorney-General.
